Who you are dealing with
Newslish is operated from Bergen, Norway, by its founder Henry (see the About page). Contact: hello@newslish.com.
The service
Newslish has a free tier and a paid subscription called Plus. The free tier includes the daily lesson at three levels, audio, vocabulary, the quiz, the lesson archive and the free tools. Plus adds unlimited writing coaching with your mistake history and spaced-repetition review of your whole saved vocabulary. You agree to use the service in accordance with these terms and applicable law.
Plus subscription and payment
Plus is billed by Stripe, either monthly or yearly, at the price shown on the Plus page when you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Founding members keep the price they joined at for as long as they stay subscribed.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time using Manage subscription in your Settings, or by emailing hello@newslish.com from the address on your account. Plus stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
Right of withdrawal and refunds
If you are a consumer in the EU or the EEA you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you subscribe. Because Plus is a digital service that starts at your request as soon as you subscribe, that right lapses once you start using the paid features. Separately from the legal right, we refund any Plus payment on request within 14 days of the charge. Email hello@newslish.com and the refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Content and adaptation
Newslish lessons are adapted from real news sources. We rewrite vocabulary and sentence structure for learning purposes and link to the original article. The original news sources retain their copyright, and Newslish is not affiliated with them. Do not redistribute or republish our lessons.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
No warranty
Newslish is provided as it is. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes, and level estimates from the tools are estimates, not official CEFR ratings.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Newslish. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced in the lesson email before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance of the new terms.
